Welcome to DBD. On March 8th, DBD celebrated it's 5th anniversary and PRiSM celebrated it's 2nd anniversary. Little did I know when I started both of these ventures just how much an impact they would have on my life and I'd like to thank each and everyone of you who have supported me over the years, with a special thanks to those individuals who have kindly shared their knowledge with me, and continue to do so. June 2021 saw another 110 Data Breaches reported which accounted for 7 Billion Data Records reported compromised.

June's total amount of Data Breaches reported decreased by over 14% from last month, but the total amount of Data Records reported compromised increased by over 5991% from last month.

The hardest hit sectors were Healthcare, Education and Public Sector, with most breach types continuing to be Cyber Attack, Internal Error and Ransomware, accounting for over 71% of total Data Breaches reported this year.

Currently this takes the yearly totals so far to 733 Data Breaches reported and 11.5 Billion Data Records reported comprised as of the end of June 2021.

May 2021 saw another 128 Data Breaches reported which accounted for 115.8 Million Data Records reported compromised.

May's total amount of Data Breaches reported decreased by over 10% from last month, and the total amount of Data Records reported compromised also decreased by over 89% from last month.

The hardest hit sectors were Healthcare, Education and Public Sector, with most breach types continuing to be Cyber Attack, Internal Error and Ransomware, accounting for over 71% of total Data Breaches reported this year.

Currently this takes the yearly totals so far to 623 Data Breaches reported and 4.5 Billion Data Records reported comprised as of the end of May 2021.

The hardest hit sectors were Healthcare, Technology and Public Sector, with most breach types continuing to be Cyber Attack, Internal Error and Ransomware, accounting for over 73% of total Data Breaches reported this year.

This takes the complete yearly totals to 1,120 Data Breaches reported and 20.2 Billion Data Records reported comprised as of the end of December 2020, resulting in an over 17% increase in Data Breaches reported and an over 64% increase in Data Records reported compromised compared with 2019's yearly totals.
